COOPERATION IN MINERALS
 

Theme: Promoting Sustainable Growth in ASEAN Through Joint Co-operation in Minerals

At the 5^th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Minerals (ASOMM) held in April 2003 in Indonesia, and pursuant to a proposal by Malaysia, a Forum was formed for the private sector to discuss matters and issues pertaining to cooperation in trade and investment in minerals in ASEAN. The primary objective of the Forum is to establish a platform for a continuous dialogue among the relevant private sector organisations and corporate bodies in the minerals sector of ASEAN.

The Forum will be officially opened by YB Dato’ S. Sothinathan, Deputy Minister, Natural Resources and Environment. It will be attended by the private sector as well as government senior officials from the ASEAN countries.
