BACKGROUND

The Malaysian Chamber of Mines as the lead Association in the mining and quarrying industry in Malaysia, is once again organising a one-day Seminar to present and discuss relevant matters and issues towards advancing and promoting occupational safety, health and environment awareness in the mining and quarrying industry. Experts in their respective fields have been invited to speak on the various topics covered in the Seminar. They include representatives from the relevant government authorities as well as the industry.

The organising of the Seminar is part of Chamber's proactive efforts towards highlighting, creating and increasing the awareness of employers, employees and the fraternity on the matter of occupational safety, health and environment in the mining and quarrying industry.

OBJECTIVES

  • To highlight the importance and impact of occupational safety, health and environment on employees’ effectiveness, efficiency, productivity and competitiveness towards overall organisational operations.
  • To encourage and accelerate the awareness and development of occupational safety, health and environment as a work culture in the mining and quarrying industry.
  • To disseminate latest and updated information on the various policies, regulations and practices pertaining to occupational safety, health and environment in the workplace.
